Photo Recreation
1) I tried to match the fashion to my best ability but I mainly tried to match the vibe and colors since I didn't have everything the original model exactly had. For the first image I tried to match the color of the dress and flower to the best of my ability. The pose wasn't exactly the same in this photo but how my model posed in this photo looked the most natural. My model's soft smile made it also really seem similar to the original photo because they were both doing a soft and little smile. I originally took this photo with a white background but I thought it would be more clan and similar to the photo if I cut and made a new background. I didn't have the same white flowers so I used a different kind I found on my bush outside my house. The pink dress I used is not the same but very similar and I used a pair of white long socks from my dad.
2) I focused on what the model was wearing and holding. So, for the second image I used a white dress shirt just like the original photo. I took a bit of an apple to be the same as the fruit the girl was holding in the original photo. I also tried to match the black hair piece but I didn't have exactly that. So, instead I decided to use a black t-shirt and folded it inside out. I then used some hair claw clips to style and make the shape of the t-shirt look similar to that of the original photos. I also originally had a white background to this photo but I then decided to cut and make a new one so I could add the gray shadow that the original one had. I let some loose hair out because my model liked some hair showing and the hair complemented her face more. I also did the eyeliner to match the original.
3) I tried to match the fashion to my best ability. So, for the third image I used the same black t-shirt. I just positioned the claw clips in different places so the head piece would look taller. I also made my model lean against the wall to prop up the head piece even more. Again I decided to let some hair come loose because it complemented my models face more. I use some clip on earrings that were similar to the original and I tried to go for more chunky earrings. I think did her eyeliner to match the original. I also cut a new background to better match the original's.
6. Personal Artist Statement:
I liked taking these photos. It was hard going through all the different photo choices to recreate. However, what really made me choose these photos is I would first think if I could recreate these photos with the stuff I had at home. Second I thought if the style would look good on my sister(make her comfortable), who was my model. I chose a fashion photographer to research because ever since I was little I have always been interested in fashion. So, recreating these photos and getting to try new looks was fun. the first photo, Spring Dream, represents the comfort that spring can bring but spring ends so quickly it is almost like a fleeting dream. My second photo, Fairy Tales, reminded me of snow white. The photo represents the hopes and dreams we want to be true but don't always happen like we thought it would. My third photo, Smooth Endings, represents how everything must come to an end, including photoshoots, but how much more enjoyable it is to end on a good note.
